Clik here to view.In my many trips to Brazil over the past few years, I have formed the view that (despite what their industry association Brasscom may feel) Brazil is not a prime candidate for low-cost offshore delivery, at least using a traditional global delivery model.
Well, last week I met Diego Eick Moreira, the London-based co-founder and managing director of Brazilian IT services company, Pandorga Technologies, whose ‘offshore’ business model really is quite different.
In brief, Pandorga is a custom software development shop which works mostly for software and IT services suppliers. Yes, all the development is done in Brazil, but it’s not a one-way street. Pandorga then helps the supplier to introduce and promote its products and services in Brazil. Win-win.
I will explain more in a future BrazilViews note (for the most recent, see Can anyone challenge IBM and Accenture in Brazil?), but I have a hunch that Pandorga may have found a way to start mining what could be a rich seam of UK software and IT services companies – and especially ‘Little British Battlers’ – who are looking for an entrée into the Brazilian marketplace.
