It’s rather hard to find anything new to say about European data centre stars, Telecity, other than ‘shine on’! The half-time picture (to 30th June) was again one of superlatives, with headline revenues up 22% to £137m (26% currency adjusted), operating margins up by nearly two points to 31.6%, and EPS up 20% to 15.1p.
There’s some inorganic growth in there from Telecity’s acquisition of Ireland’s Data Electronics in August last year, and UK Grid the following month. These added 5.5MW to the mix (power is everything in the data centre business), increasing capacity by 13% and contributing about 9% to H1 revenue growth. Telecity added another 1MW of capacity in the Nordics, with today's announcement of the acquisition of Finnish Tenue.
The demand for the sorts of co-lo service that Telecity offers just shows no signs whatsoever of abating. Indeed, with more and more computing moving off-premise, why ever would it?
