Clik here to view.Capgemini and Salesforce.com are taking their existing alliance global in a bid to accelerate business around the cloud and social enterprise and have devised a joint fast growth agreement with dedicated leadership and investment from both parties. The programme to improve customer experiences in the cloud will be rolled out in core markets first, including the UK, France, Netherlands, the Nordics, and North America. The aim is to grow revenue over the next two years.
Salesforce.com has been enthusiastically pumping out the cloud and social enterprise message and enabling technology but beyond local and tactical rollouts, many businesses are struggling to understand the full benefits and how to go about an enterprise-wide transformation to cloud-based operations and the social enterprise. As a technology company, Salesforce.com lacks experience and credibility in the strategic business transformation area. The agreement with Capgemini brings a level of consulting and IT services Salesforce.com would not be able to achieve, plus global provision which will be important in breaking cloud adoption and particularly the concept of the social enterprise out of local silo’s. It illustrates many of the points raised in Social media: the business imperative, about the opportunities for services providers in the social media space.
The global investment Capgemini is putting into its cloud and Salesforce.com activities (which includes further investment in Salesforce.com training and certification, expanding the number of dedicated salesforce.com Centers of Excellence, and building out sector-specific solutions telecommunications and financial services), is testament to the revenue opportunities it sees within the next two years, particularly among large enterprises. The duo are already working on with a number of global clients including Touring Club Schweiz, the largest mobility association of Switzerland, to transform its business into a social enterprise.
